Aerogel Insulation Coating For Steam Pipes Features
Stops Heat Loss From Gaps And Joints
This liquid coating forms an unbroken, seamless insulation layer over the entire line, completely eliminating the heat leaks you always get at the joints of traditional cladding.
Prevents Costly Hidden Rust Under Jackets
Because the coating bonds directly to the steel like glue with zero air gaps, moisture cannot get trapped against the pipe to cause Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI).
Insulates Complex Valves And Flanges Easily
There is no need to spend budget on custom-fabricated metal boxes; if a spray gun can reach a complex steam valve, you can insulate it in minutes.
Protects Workers From Accidental Burns
A layer of this coating drops blazing pipe surface temperatures down below 140℉, keeping your maintenance crews safe and meeting factory compliance rules.

Step 1: Surface Preparation
Make sure the pipe is completely clean and dry. Wipe down any grease, oil, salt, or loose scale. For carbon steel steam lines, apply a high-temperature industrial anti-corrosion primer first and let it cure fully.
Step 2: Equipment Setup
Hook up a heavy-duty airless paint sprayer. Take out all the fine mesh filters from both the machine pump and the spray gun to keep the aerogel from clogging the system. Use a large tip size (around 0.025" to 0.029") for a steady, smooth spray.
Step 3: Layer Application
Stir the bucket slowly before use to keep the material uniform-never use a high-speed mixer. Spray the coating in steady passes at about 1mm wet thickness per layer, letting it dry for 4 to 6 hours before spraying the next coat until you hit your target thickness.
Step 4: Final Topcoat
If your steam lines are outdoors on overhead racks or exposed to harsh chemical washdowns indoors, spray a durable, weather-resistant, high-temperature topcoat over the cured aerogel to protect the system long-term.
Volume capacity that matches your project scale: We handle everything from processing raw aerogel to blending the final liquid coating, so we easily deliver massive container orders for facility upgrades without delays.
Consistent batch-to-batch performance: We test every single production lot under strict quality control so the weight, viscosity, and insulation properties are identical from the first bucket to the last.
Accurate material usage calculations: We give you real-world coverage numbers that factor in pipe diameters, surface geometry, and standard wind overspray so you don't run out of material mid-job.
Clean customs and shipping documentation: We provide full SDS, Certificates of Analysis (COA), and non-hazardous transport certificates with every shipment to ensure your containers clear global ports with zero delays.

FAQ
1.How many millimeters do we need to apply to replace standard fiberglass wrap?
Because aerogel blocks heat much better than fiberglass, you don't need a thick wrap. For a standard 170℉ steam line, about 5mm to 7mm of dry aerogel coating is usually all it takes to bring the outside skin down to a safe-to-touch range.
2.Can this coating handle the constant vibration and expansion of high-pressure lines?
Yes, absolutely. Unlike rigid mineral blocks that crack, crumble, or turn to dust when pipes shake, this coating cures into a slightly flexible, rubbery matrix that expands, contracts, and vibrates right along with the steel.
3.Can we apply this liquid coating directly while the steam pipes are hot?
It is best to apply it when the lines are cold or warm (under 60℃). If you spray it onto a boiling hot pipe, the water in the liquid coating will flash off too fast, causing bubbles and ruin the adhesion to the steel.
